The shipbuilding infrastructure
MARS is a vertical ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system especially developed for shipyards. It consists of four major applications:

MARS*Production (Production management)
MARS*Planning (Resource planning and control)
MARS is developed in close cooperation with several of the world’s leading shipyards. This means that a number of best-practice processes is build into the system and gives a natural support for the processes which are vital for a modern shipyard.
Today the MARS system is implemented at the following type of shipyards:
- Newbuilding shipyards (navy and commercial)
- Repair/conversion/overhaul.(navy and commercial)
- Outfitting shipyards (commercial)
- Offshore shipyards (commercial)
All major business processes are supported, including tendering and pre-calculation, project establishment and planning, project and budget control, design and engineering, material definition, material management, procurement, warehousing, production control, subcontracting, document management, drawing management, tool management and after sales.
The modular concept of the MARS system allow shipyards to maintain their existing IT systems or parts of these and integrate them with the MARS system, by means of the standard APIs (Application Programmer Interface) that comes with the MARS system.
