Storage and stock optimization
Knowledge of stock levels, conditions and movements is an absolute prerequisite for running an efficient warehouse. LOGIA contains the tools that are required for effective management of the warehouse and stock.
Stock control - Counting
LOGIA provides the maximum security for correct stock levels through a controlled picking process and via counting on a real-time basis.
Counting is carried out at the following levels:
Stock counting is carried out on an ongoing basis during operations, thus eliminating the need for complete stocktaking procedures.
Individual and time-controlled storage
Stockholdings are managed in LOGIA either at storage medium level or alternatively at a more detailed individual level.
Stockholdings are attributed tracking control data, shelf life data and individual data such as weight and serial number. This enables items to be traced both when looking backwards and forwards, and this information makes up the basis for use when dealing with claims or satisfying statutory requirements.
The item’s production date and time of input are used in LOGIA for management of the item’s storage period, which can be used for:
Stock movements
LOGIA optimises the storage of items and as far as possible inputs goods correctly in connection with goods reception. This reduces the need for internal movements at the warehouse, which will thus consist chiefly of replenishment of picking locations, seasonal relocations of items and movements in connection with restructuring or development of a range of goods. In automated warehouses the cranes’ excess capacity can be used to optimise the location of goods or for the positioning of goods in preparation for the following day’s picking orders.
