MARS*Material is the application where all basic data from the start of a project are created and refined, starting with information related to design/engineering, drawings, materials, equipment, part listing followed by procurement and finally stock and warehouse management.

Special functions are available for handling the highly specialised outfitting process where design elements, materials and activities are combined, giving the production department a clear overview of the requirement and availability of resources needed for a certain task. Catalogues for handling project specific items as well as standard material catalogues are available. Many shipyards consider this a very powerful feature. For all outfitting materials reserved for specific projects, MARS*Materials offers a highly specialised function for material requirement analysis, which on a continuous basis, monitors the material balance for all ongoing projects.

As a result of this information, it is possible to predict any kind of material shortage for a certain project and any corrective measures can be taken to prevent such situations occurring. Estimation of steel requirements is also handled in MARS*Material, where the processes for handling of steel material catalogues for plates and profiles, definition of steel sections, definition of steel section part lists and finally purchasing and request for steel for production are all fully supported. For stock control and warehouse management, MARS*Material streamlines your entire inventory process. Throughout the execution of the projects, project managers, controllers and directors at the shipyard can monitor the financial figures for the project related to materials, work, subcontractors, labour and finally any kind of direct expenses.
