LOGIA WMS - Internal logistics and warehouse management

Goods reception

Correct goods reception is a prerequisite for the efficient and error-free function of warehouse processes. This places exacting demands on both personnel and tools in goods reception. LOGIA functionality supports all processes, and goods reception takes place online via PC and/or PDA.

The received goods are checked and undergo quality control, whilst the order is checked against the purchase order in LOGIA. Provided that the goods received are correct, the supplier order is concluded automatically. Deliveries in which the quantity of received goods does not match the order or deliveries of goods in which, for example, the shelf life has been exceeded are registered so that non-conformities in relation to the order are made visible to the purchasing and quality departments with a view to follow-up and/or approval prior to concluding the supplier order.

Goods reception with PC
LOGIA provides personnel with the opportunity to carry out:

  • Goods reception by PDA - managed by LOGIA WMSregistration of non-conformities in terms of quantity
  • specification/amendment of master data for goods
  • scanning/entry of tracking data
  • quarantine procedures
  • re-storage, labelling and packing of goods
  • distribution of goods in different warehouse sections
  • combined storage of goods on a storage medium
  • replenishment of goods at picking locations
  • picking in goods reception

Goods reception with PDA
The use of PDA in goods reception ensures fast and effective goods reception with minimal chances of error. Via the barcode, product data such as item number, quantity, weight, BBD (best before date), pallet ID, etc., can be scanned and registered in a single operation. The warehouse operative is also able to register deviations in terms of quantity, label the product for quarantine, etc.

Online data for planning
Goods reception takes place online and the updating of order and status data in LOGIA takes place in real time as and when the goods are received. This provides a good overview of all items in the warehouse and ensures the correct basis for planning the day’s picking operations.

When the goods have been received and registered, LOGIA provides several options for increasing the efficiency of the working procedure between goods reception, inputting and picking.
